Baby Queen announces debut album and tour – here’s where to get presale codes | Music | Entertainment

It feels like Baby Queen has been in the music industry for ages – but she’s only just announced her first full-length album.
Following her extremely successful 2021 EP, The Yearbook, South African-born Arabella Latham has just announced October 6, 2023 as the release date of her debut record, Quarter Life Crisis, and the tour to coincide with her explosive album.
Beginning in Brighton on October 31, 2023, the star will be venturing around the UK throughout November, 2023, before finishing off her tour with two massive shows in New York and Los Angeles.
Speaking about her new album, Baby Queen said: “This album tells the story of my journey through my early 20s – leaving my childhood and my adolescence behind but never really losing my childlike wonder and never quite growing up. The songs are all facets of what early adulthood has been like for me while discovering new parts of myself, my sexuality, my past and my place in this world.”
“It has been lonely, chaotic, beautiful, devastating and inspiring and I think these songs reflect that, creating a space in which innocence and experience can live side by side as two conflicting entities.” – Baby Queen
Baby Queen added: “I’ve always been really inspired by the dichotomy and tension between two opposite things – hence the name Baby Queen. Human beings are complex, and life and growth are complex and nuanced. I’m not sure anybody ever truly feels like they have it all figured out – I certainly don’t, but it has been the greatest joy of my life to be able to share my experiences with those willing to listen to my stories.
“I really want this album to leave people feeling hopeful because there is so much beauty to live through and look forward to and it truly is magical and extraordinary to be alive and to have the very short opportunity to experience every emotion imaginable.”

Unseen Elvis concert footage film from Baz Luhrmann gets thrilling trailer | Films | Entertainment

Following his 2022 move biopic Elvis, Baz Luhrmann has been hard at work on his next film about the King of Rock and Roll.
Warner Bros has given the filmmaker unprecedented access to a ton of unused footage from classic Elvis Presley documentaries.
These include the 1970 Las Vegas residency concert movie Elvis: That’s The Way It Is and 1972 concert road film, Elvis on Tour.
The filmmaker unearthed the unseen negatives when Warner Bros allowed him to dive into their underground salt mine vaults in Kansas while he was researching his biopic.
Also among the treasure trove was rare behind-the-scenes audio that had been feared lost, including recordings of Elvis telling stories about his life.
Restored and remastered, Baz says it’s not quite a documentary, not quite a concert movie, but promises it’s Elvis Presley like never before.
EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert is in IMAX from February 20 and cinemas from February 27.

The Cheeky Girls now working at Audi dealership after ‘hanging up hotpants’ | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Iconic noughties pop sensation The Cheeky Girls have reportedly swapped the stage for the showroom, having temporarily “hung up their hotpants”, and are now working at car dealerships. The Romanian twin sisters, Gabriela and Monica Irimia, burst onto the scene in the early 2000s with a string of top ten bangers, including the unforgettable Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum).
After first capturing the public’s imagination on Popstars: The Rivals back in 2002, the sisters have shifted millions of records worldwide. Throughout the years, they’ve cemented themselves as household names, something Monica says they’re especially “proud” of. For now, though, they’ve “hung up their hotpants”, partly because of day jobs that couldn’t be further removed from their pop star past.

The duo, now 43, are currently “toiling away” as “salespeople at Audi dealerships”, Closer magazine reports. Speaking to the publication, the twins revealed: “Having two so radically different jobs is amazing. It’s like having two identities, and we love that.”
The sisters’ venture into motor retail came to light in a 2021 report, which disclosed that Gabriela had begun working as a salesperson at a Hyundai dealership in York.
Monica, meanwhile, although in the same line of work, secured a position at a different Hyundai dealership in Lincolnshire. She told The Sun on Sunday they required a “solid business” for their future, highlighting how the car industry would “always be good business”.
Monica explained: “Being an entertainer is fantastic, but like it was with Covid, if you don’t have a solid job or business, how do you survive? Gigs all disappeared for two years during Covid, but we didn’t stop making money.”
She continued: “Sometimes we only sleep two-three hours to do the gigs and get to work, but it’s worth it.”
Gabriela revealed she was equally enthusiastic about her new venture, hinting at the time that the duo might eventually launch their own dealership, with punters reportedly giving them “glowing” feedback.

She said the twins are “busy bees” and, in time, they would invest in their own dealership, explaining how she loves both driving and cars and dubbing it a “passion for me”.
Their mother, Margit, appeared fully supportive of the car sales enterprise, pointing out that the twins couldn’t remain Cheeky Girls forever and needed to “have a business”.
She remarked: “Let me ask you this: can you be a Cheeky Girl when you’re 60? She needs to have a business and realises that girl fashion is now cars. Women are changing their cars every year.”
Despite being viewed as a novelty act, The Cheeky Girls have achieved notable success in the music world. Their debut single Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum) climbed to number 2 in the UK charts, shifting an impressive 1.2 million copies globally.
Their other releases include Take Your Shoes Off, (Hooray, Hooray) It’s a Cheeky Holiday! and Have a Cheeky Christmas.
