The inaugural season of 2026 goes live on Wednesday, January 14, with the update being launched simultaneously worldwide. Expected maintenance beforehand should be minimal, allowing gamers to dive into the action as soon as it releases, reports the Mirror.

Appearing on Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast, Damon shared: “I worked with [Eastwood] twice and the first time was Invictus.

“So I was playing a South African Rugby player and that’s a really tough accent to do.”

Ahead of filming, the actor said he had a number of different ways of doing the scene. Sony has filed an interesting new patent for technology that uses artificial intelligence to play your games for you.

The patent is for something Sony describes as ‘Ghost Player’, which is essentially an AI-generated version of the player character that can step in when the going gets tough.

For example, if you’re stuck on a challenging platforming section of a game, or perhaps you can’t solve a particular puzzle, Ghost Player could provide the necessary help.

According to VGC, the Ghost Player feature would have a “Guide Mode” that simply demonstrates the solution, as well as a “Complete Mode” that plays the game for you.

The technology would use existing footage to train itself, rather than utilising pre-programmed prompts.

It’s an evolution of Sony’s existing Game Help system for the PS5, which provides in-game video walkthroughs for certain activities in supported games.
