Mia, 21, who holds dual French and Israeli citizenship, was abducted while at the Nova Festival near the Gaza border which was stormed by jihadists who mounted a murder spree by hand glider.

Yesterday she was paraded in a deeply disturbing hostage video prompting Keren Schem to beg: “Please bring my baby back home.”

Mia’s terrified face came to symbolise the evil unleashed by the heavily-armed attackers as she was paraded in a sick Hamas video. Just moments earlier was smiling and dancing at the festival where 260 revellers were rounded up and shot dead.

Keren Schem said: “She only went to a party, to a festival party to have some fun…and now she’s in Gaza.”

Her family lost contact with Mia after an ominous final message to a fellow raver which read: “They’re shooting at us. Please, come save us.”

Karen said: “There are many children who went to this party, many babies, children, old people and Holocaust survivors that were kidnapped, their houses were burned.

“This is a crime against humanity and we should all gather and stop this terror and bring everybody back home.”

The mum spent hours calling Mia’s phone after she went missing from the festival near Sderot, which was stormed by gunmen on October 7.

Keren has had to live with the unimaginable torture of not knowing whether her daughter is dead or alive for a week since the cross-border incursion.

The Hamas video, published on the group’s official Telegram channel, shows Mia speaking Hebrew as she addresses the camera directly.

She says she is from central Israel and that her captors are taking care of her, before quietly adding: “I only ask that you get me out of here as soon as possible. Please.”

It is the first footage released by Hamas of a hostage apparently speaking from captivity in Gaza. Hamas is thought to be holding at least 150 hostages.

Keren found her daughter had been kidnapped, and not dead, on October 14.

She said: “I was so happy, it is so pathetic. I was happy to hear that my baby is being held captive by the worst enemy in the world. I mean, God knows what she’s going through.

“She has the mind of a 50-year-old woman, not a 20-year-old girl. She’s so mature and she’s a real warrior.”

US President Donald Trump has been criticised for his choice of words in his message announcing the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for the rest of the ceasefire.

Mehdi Hasan, a British-American journalist, highlighted with a comment on X how the American president used a different name for the Strait of Hormuz, saying his words looked like “total capitulation”.

Hasa said: “Trump just publicly referred to the Strait of Hormuz as the ‘Strait of Iran’. Not only does this look like total capitulation from his administration but I am trying to imagine the GOP/Fox response if Joe Biden had said this.”

This came after Israeli journalist and close ally of Benjamin Netanyahu, Yinon Magal, said: “Trump Surrenders to Iran.”

Mr Trump published several posts on Truth Social following the announcement from Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghici who said the Strait of Hormuz was “declared completely open” for the “remaining period of ceasefire”.

Mr Trump said: “IRAN HAS JUST ANNOUNCED THAT THE STRAIT OF IRAN IS FULLY OPEN AND READY FOR FULL PASSAGE. THANK YOU!” In a separate post, however, he also said: “BUT THE NAVAL BLOCKADE WILL REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT AS IT PERTAINS TO IRAN, ONLY, UNTIL SUCH TIME AS OUR TRANSACTION WITH IRAN IS 100% COMPLETE.

“THIS PROCESS SHOULD GO VERY QUICKLY IN THAT MOST OF THE POINTS ARE ALREADY NEGOTIATED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER! PRESIDENT DONALD J.TRUMP”. In one of his messages he referred to the Strait of Hormuz to ‘Strait of Iran’.

The US President also took the chance to criticise again his NATO allies, including the UK. He said the announcement regarding the strait “feels good,” but also added it was “too bad” he didn’t have help from NATO which he called a “paper tiger”.

As Dan Rivers, ITV US correspondent, revealed, Mr Trump also said relationship with the UK and British PM Keir Starmer are “not good, not good at all”.

Taking on Truth Social again, the American President further dismissed European efforts in another message. He said: “Now that the Hormuz Strait situation is over, I received a call from NATO asking if we would need some help. I TOLD THEM TO STAY AWAY, UNLESS THEY JUST WANT TO LOAD UP THEIR SHIPS WITH OIL. They were useless when needed, a Paper Tiger! President DJT”

PM Keir Starmer said he would “do everything I can” to alleviate the impact of the Iran war on the public and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Asked what the point of Friday’s meeting with fellow leaders in Paris was, the Prime Minister told reporters: “It is very important that we build a coalition of countries around the principle that the ceasefire should be permanent, there should be a deal, and that the Strait of Hormuz is open.

“It is in all of our interests to do that, because what’s happening in the war in Iran is affecting each of our economies.

Brazen Russia ‘breaches NATO airspace’ as Putin’s forces pummel Ukraine | World | News

A Russian drone has reportedly breached the airspace of a NATO country during an overnight bombardment targeting Ukraine. Romania’s Defence Ministry said its air defences identified two targets in the border area of Tulcea county during attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, one of which entered its airspace.

The ministry said it lost contact with the target over an uninhabited area in what it called “a serious violation of the norms of international law. It said in a statement: “One of the targets entered the airspace of our country, the radar contact with it being lost 16 km southeast of Chilia Veche over an uninhabited area.

“We strongly condemn the actions of the Russian Federation that endanger regional security, constituting a serious violation of the norms of international law”

A team has been sent to investigate the area following the alert, which began just after midnight local time on Friday and ended at 2.48am.

Tulcea is directly across the border from the Ukrainian port of Izmail, which has been a target for Russian attacks, and is bordered by the River Danube.

Emergency alerts were sent out across northern parts of Tulcea just after 3.45am local time on Tuesday, and ended about an hour later.

The country’s Ministry of National Defence said: “Two F-16 aircraft of the Romanian Air Force from the Air Police Combat Service took off from the 86th Air Base in Fetești, and the air defence systems were put into firing positions.

The government confirmed that none of the Russian drones breached Romanian airspace.

Ukrainian authorities said Russia “massively attacked” civilian and port infrastructure, damaging facilities at Izmail and a Panamanian-flagged ship. There were no casualties.
