New Delhi:

Gauahar Khan needs no introduction. From teaching us how to nail a look to giving us beauty goals, the actress does it all like a total pro. Now, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actress opened up about an incident when she was just 18 and worked as a VJ. She said, “Ek bahut hi diggaz personality thay. Main unka name nahi bataungi. [There was a big star. I interviewed him. Won’t reveal his name.] He has passed away now. The whole interview he didn’t let go of my hand. I was like this is awkward. How do I pull my hand out? But the whole interview I was sitting like this [folded hands]. And, I was and still am a huge fan of his talent. His work. Isliye main specifically bata nahi rahi hoon ki woh kaunsi field main thay.”

She continued, “And, then it so happened that my director obviously realised that yaha kuch thora ajeeb chal raha hai. As soon as the shoot was over, he just told me ‘Gauhaur go to your room and lock the door.’ I was like okay. I don’t know why he said that. I locked the door and later I got to know that he [the star] was just asking for my number and asking where I am. Why couldn’t I meet him before I left? And all of that….I was like Oh my god! I am 18. Why is this happening to me? I am a huge fan of this person. But it’s awkward. Imagine sitting like that. I couldn’t do much at that time. I was just a VJ at that time. He was a big star. I can’t risk it. It was my job to interview him.”

Gauahar Khan, in the same interview, also spoke about baby boy Zehaan. She and Zaid Darbar welcomed their first child earlier this year. She said, “He looks a lot like my father. He’s got his smile. So, when he’s sleeping and he smiling, I go like he’s got my papa’s smile. So, when he was born the first thing on Zaid’s side and also my side said that he looks like Nana. MashaAllah he’s got his smile. He’s got my father’s eyes because of my eyes. So, my eyes are exactly like Zehaan’s. And he’s beautiful.”

New Delhi:

David Dhawan has worked with the biggest names in Bollywood at the peak of his career. From Salman Khan and Govinda to Sanjay Dutt, he has delivered some memorable films. The filmmaker, who is currently busy promoting Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai led by his son, actor Varun Dhawan, opened up about why he never worked with Shah Rukh Khan.

What’s Happening

  • David Dhawan told Pinkvilla,Aisi baat nahi hai (It isn’t like that). I think at one time we were planning to do something together. But I was always busy. Always mere paas do pictures floor mein rahti thi (I always had two films on the floors at that time). So, it was very difficult, you know. But definitely at one stage it was there.”
  • He continued, “Par mere kabhi bhi aisa nahi hai ke main yeh actor ke saath work karunga. Maine jaise Govinda ke saath kiya, Salman ke saath kiya, Sanjay… wohi ho gaya tha hisab kitab (But it’s never been the case that I would only work with a specific actor. As I worked with Govinda, Salman, and Sanjay (Dutt), it just worked out that way).”

Work

On the work front, David Dhawan is gearing up for the release of his film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The teaser of the film was released recently which received significant backlash for the use of AI toddlers speaking about how their mothers might be different, but their father Jass — played by Varun Dhawan — is the same. The mothers of these children are played by Mrunal Thakur as Baani and Pooja Hegde as Preet.

Reacting to the online backlash against the film’s teaser, David Dhawan told ANI, “AI hai hee nahin picture mein… Kya karein kuch alag karein, to banake dekha humne. Theek laga. Kahani bhi ye nahin hai. (There is no AI in the film. We wanted to do something different. We thought it looked ok. The story is also different) It’s just a teaser. You’ll get to know when the songs will come. The picture has got nothing to do (with AI)”

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, produced by Ramesh Taurani of Tips Films, is set to be released worldwide on May 22. The film also stars Maniesh Paul, Chunky Pandey, Jimmy Shergill, and Mouni Roy.

Akshay Kumar Reacts To Backlash Over Fake Moustache In Samrat Prithviraj: “I Am Sorry”

Akshay Kumar has finally responded to the criticism surrounding his look in Samrat Prithviraj, particularly the much-discussed fake moustache that drew attention when the film released in 2022.

At the time, many viewers questioned the authenticity of his appearance as the legendary king Prithviraj Chauhan. The historical drama faced backlash from sections of the audience who expected a more natural and convincing portrayal.

Akshay Kumar’s Clarification

Speaking on a podcast shared on Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel, Akshay has addressed the issue and clarified that the decision was not due to a lack of effort on his part.

“See, I’m working on lots of things, lots of films, and lots of looks. Like right now, I have this beard. I took around six weeks to grow it, and during those six weeks, I didn’t work. So it’s not like that,” he said.

The actor went on to explain that the specific moustache style required for Samrat Prithviraj was not something he could grow naturally, which led to the use of a prosthetic.

“In Samrat Prithviraj, the story required a particular kind of moustache, and that kind of moustache cannot grow naturally on my face. So yes, maybe the fake moustache didn’t look good, maybe a lot of people didn’t like it. But at the end of the day, it’s acting. Growing that exact moustache might not be possible for me. But sometimes you have to do it. And if people didn’t like it, then I am sorry,” he added.

About The Film

Released on June 3, 2022, Samrat Prithviraj featured Akshay Kumar in the lead role alongside Manushi Chhillar, Sanjay Dutt, and Sonu Sood. The film, backed by Yash Raj Films, was based on the life of the renowned warrior king.
