There is great news for fans of Citadel, as the new season is all set to stream on Prime Video on May 6.

On Tuesday, the streaming giant released an action-packed trailer for the second season, announcing the premiere date for the return of the spy series, which stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden in the lead roles.

Citadel is a heart-racing spy thriller that follows Mason Kane (Richard Madden), Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), and Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci) – elite operatives of a legendary agency that was destroyed by Manticore, a ruthless network backed by the world’s most powerful families.

When a terrifying new threat emerges, “the three are pulled back into action. Now they must recruit an unlikely team of skilled new operatives and launch a globe-spanning mission to stop a conspiracy that could reshape humanity,” read a press note.

Returning cast members this season include Lesley Manville and Ashleigh Cummings, alongside an expanded ensemble cast featuring Jack Reynor as Hutch, Matt Berry as Franke Sharpe, and Lina El Arabi as Celine.

Other notable additions include Merle Dandridge, Gabriel Leone, and Rayna Vallandingham.

From Amazon MGM Studios and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO, Citadel is executive produced by Anthony Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Scott Nemes for AGBO, with David Weil serving as showrunner, director, and executive producer. Joe Russo and Greg Yaitanes also serve as directors, in addition to their roles as executive producers.

Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla retains its momentum after 5 days at the box office. On Day 5, the film minted ₹7.65 crore across 11,589 shows at the domestic box office.

Breaking Down The Numbers

The domestic net collections of Bhooth Bangla stand at ₹72.40 crore, while the gross stand at ₹86.21 crore, as per Sacnilk. 

Overseas, the film collected ₹2.50 crore on Day 5, taking its total overseas gross to ₹31.50 crore so far. This pushes the worldwide gross collection to ₹117.71 crore. 

After Day 34, Dhurandhar 2 slowed down at the box office, minting ₹2 crore on its fifth Tuesday.

This brings the total India gross collections to ₹1,339.76 crore and the total India net collections to ₹1,119.29 crore so far, per Sacnilk. 

Overseas, the film collected ₹0.50 crore on Day 34, taking its total overseas gross to ₹422.00 crore so far. This pushes the worldwide gross collection to ₹1,761.76 crore.

In keeping with the trend set by Dhurandhar 2, the makers of Bhooth Bangla hosted paid previews a day before its official release.

From paid previews, the film minted ₹3.75 crore.

The film marks Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s collaboration after 14 years. Opening to mixed reviews, the film was off to a better-than-expected start.

The film boasts a massive ensemble cast featuring Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi, and the late actor Asrani.

Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures (a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd.) in association with Cape of Good Films, Bhooth Bangla is produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ektaa R. Kapoor.

The makers postponed the release date of the film by a week, citing the Dhurandhar 2 effect.

Vijay Varma, who is basking in the success of Amazon Prime show Matka King, hit the headlines once again for his personal life. On Tuesday, the actor was spotted with Jawan actress Aaliyah Qureishi outside Japanese restaurant Mizu in Mumbai.

The actors were dressed in their casual best. Vijay and Aaliyah did not try to evade the paparazzi, but they quickly got into the car. They were seen sharing a good laugh inside the car in viral videos.

Vijay Varma’s appearance with Aaliyah Qureishi comes after reports claimed that he and Tamannaah broke up last year. However, the former couple have not made any public comment on their split.

‘World Is Changing Fast, I’m Not Able To Catch Up’

During the promotions of Matka King, Vijay Varma opened up about how online negativity has impacted him. He admitted that he is not able to “catch up” with the fast-changing world.

“The world is changing so fast. I‘m not able to catch up. There has been an entire shift in the culture. The way people communicate and write comments is a little too excessive, direct and personal. Sometimes, there’s too much fabrication and too many lies [written about you],” he told News18.

“When we were growing up, saying something bad about someone on a public platform was frowned upon and not appreciated. Those who badmouthed were considered to be wrong. Abhi sab kuch ulta ho gaya hai. Jo gaali de raha hai, usko koi kuch nahi bol raha hai. The one who’s being subjected to these abuses will, in fact, have more people badmouthing rather than supporting them,” he added.

Vijay And Tamannaah Breakup

According to a Pinkvilla report, the couple parted ways amicably last year.

“Tamannaah Bhatia and Vijay Varma parted ways weeks ago as a couple but they plan to remain good friends. Both have been working hard in their respective schedules,” a source close to the couple told Pinkvilla.

Vijay Varma and Tamannaah sparked dating rumours when they were first spotted together at a New Year’s Eve party back in 2023. The speculation grew stronger as the couple made a few public appearances together. Finally, they made their relationship public during the promotions of Lust Stories 2. After the public announcement, the couple were spotted together at events, screenings, date nights and functions.

Tamannaah made her relationship public when she called Vijay Varma her “happy place” during an interview with Film Companion in 2024. Later, Vijay Varma also confessed his feelings for Tamannaah in several interviews that year.

Tamannaah and Vijay Varma shared screen space in the Netflix anthology Lust Stories 2 for the first time. They reportedly came close to each other during the shoot of the film.
