Man Utd news: Marcus Rashford fires back at ‘rumours’ with five-word social media post | Football | Sport

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has hit back at speculation over his future at Old Trafford with a snappy social media post. Rashford has been on the end of mass backlash over the past week for his post-Manchester derby antics, and he has now taken it upon himself to fight back.
The 26-year-old started United’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City at the end of October as he continued his goal drought, now standing at 10 games.
In the aftermath, since-confirmed reports claimed Rashford had been spotted at a Manchester nightclub just hours after the humiliation at Old Trafford.
A source close to Rashford said he ‘attended an intimate, pre-planned celebration in honour of his birthday at a private area of a Chinawhite organised by his friends’.
He left before close and wasn’t late for training on Monday, but started on the bench in Wednesday’s 3-0 Carabao Cup loss to Newcastle United.
On Friday, United manager Erik ten Hag branded Rashford’s decision to have a public party ‘unacceptable’ but confirmed he had apologised and the matter had been resolved internally.
But speculation – intensified by Rashford’s omission from the squad in Saturday’s 1-0 win against Fulham – has continued to swirl.

The United No 10 travelled and was on the bench at Craven Cottage, but Ten Hag confirmed he wasn’t available for selection after failing a late fitness test.
That didn’t stop looming concerns over his status in the Dutchman’s project among supporters, though. And fan channel ‘The United Stand’ broadcasted a live stream on Monday titled ‘Rashford’s future in doubt?’.
Rashford took to X (formerly Twitter) to blast the post with a short but strong message, replying: “Please STOP spreading malicious rumours.”
He’s been widely praised for his reaction across the fanbase and firmly retains the support of millions on his mission to rediscover his devastating 2022/23 form.
Rashford struck a career-best 30 goals last season, heavily contributing to Ten Hag’s successful maiden campaign as United manager.
But he has scored just once this term, the opening goal in the Red Devils’ 3-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
The England international has shown glimmers of quality, especially while growing a partnership with £72million striker Rasmus Hojlund. But his inconsistency has been fitting of United’s fortunes so far this term.
Ten Hag will hope Rashford is fit to return in Wednesday’s crucial Champions League trip to FC Copenhagen, though. There wouldn’t be a much better time to start finding the net again.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s stance on Marcus Rashford making Man United return | Football | Sport

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reluctant to have Marcus Rashford back at Manchester United. Rashford is on a season-long loan at Barcelona, who have the option to buy him for £26million at the end of the campaign.
However, Barca are believed to be keen to extend the forward’s loan deal into a second season. But as reported by the the Manchester Evening News, Old Trafford sources insist they aren’t interested in negotiating and point to the option in the agreement signed last summer. United also have no plans on the table to try and reintegrate the 28-year-old into the squad, even if former team-mate Michael Carrick remains as head coach into next season. And co-owner Ratcliffe is also reluctant to have Rashford back on the books.
Rashford has not played for United since December 2024 and lost his ‘10’ squad number to Matheus Cunha under former coach Ruben Amorim during the summer.
Before that, Amorim said he would rather name his 63-year-old goalkeeping coach as a substitute than a player who does not give his all, in response to a question about Rashford.
The forward spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa and was forced to train at a separate time from United’s first-team players in the summer before he joined Barca. The England international has largely impressed at Spotify Camp Nou, scoring 12 goals and claiming 13 assists in all competitions so far this season.
Barca also hold a six-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of the table and have a game in hand on their arch-rivals.
And speaking to ESPN towards the end of last year, Rashford made clear he wants to join the Catalan giants on a permanent basis this summer.
“Oh yeah, for sure,” the forward replied when asked if he wanted to stay at Barcelona. “I’m enjoying this football club and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game. For a player, it is an honour.”

Summer is approaching fast and with the sunshine comes a renewed fervour amongst tennis fans eager to secure their place at Wimbledon. And 2026 is shaping up to be a truly spectacular year. Kicking off on Monday, 29th June 2026, Wimbledon will once again throw open its gates for another fortnight of exhilarating tennis action in London. The prestigious tournament runs from June 29 to July 12.
As is the case every year, tickets were snapped up within moments of being released through the official ballot earlier this year. As a result, very few remain available through standard channels. Thankfully, there is still a way to get your hands on tickets for Wimbledon 2026 right now. Official VIP and hospitality ticket supplier Seat Unique currently has a wide selection of tickets on offer for every day of the upcoming tournament.
Prices on the website range from around £2,000 per ticket, rising to approximately £10,000, with each option coming with its own set of exclusive benefits.
Several packages boast “unparalleled view of the court”, alongside “access to the Debenture facilities on the day, with food and drinks available to purchase”. Certain tickets also grant access to some of the finest vantage points around the court.
One option promises “debenture Seating within the Middle Tier of Court No 1”. All of these VIP and hospitality packages can be browsed and purchased directly through the Seat Unique website.
Alternatively, supporters are urged to monitor the official Wimbledon website closely. At the time of writing, the official ticket page confirms that “the Wimbledon Public Ballot for The Championships 2026 is now closed,” suggesting that no additional tickets are currently on offer.
However, further tickets may emerge at a later stage should fans return theirs, or if supplementary stock is made available. Supporters can visit the official Wimbledon website here.
Fans can also hunt for tickets through resale platform viagogo. The secondary marketplace specialises in the buying and selling of tickets for live music and sporting events between enthusiasts.
At the time of writing, viagogo has a substantial number of Wimbledon 2026 tickets listed for purchase, with some commanding prices of approximately £3,000 each.

Alejandro Garnacho ‘torn apart by Chelsea squad in dressing room’ at half-time | Football | Sport

Alejandro Garnacho was reportedly laid into by his Chelsea players at half-time of the Blues’ recent defeat against Manchester United. Garnacho was subbed into the game early doors after an injury to Estevao forced the Brazilian wonderkid off the pitch.
After initially failing to make an impact on the right-hand side of Chelsea‘s attack, boss Liam Rosenior switched him over to his more favoured left-hand side. It didn’t work to much effect though, as Garnacho continued to struggle throughout the 1-0 loss at Stamford Bridge.
Garnacho, of course, arrived from United in the summer transfer window, joining for a fee rumoured to be in the region of £40million. The Argentine was getting plenty of stick from the travelling United fans throughout Saturday night’s Premier League encounter, but as far as Garnacho was concerned, the stick didn’t end there.
As per The Sun, it’s claimed the Chelsea players were unhappy with Garnacho’s contributions, with some even going as far as giving him an earful during the half-time interval. Meanwhile, his former United team-mates revelled in their victory over Garnarcho on social media, with Luke Shaw posting a photo of him clattering into the ex-Red Devil.
It was liked, or commented on, by team-mates Dalot, Fernandes, Cunha, Joshua Zirkzee, Ayden Heaven, Lisandro Martinez, Patrick Dorgu and Mason Mount. Elsewhere, the official United social media account clipped up videos of Garnacho being tackled by several of their players, which received plenty of admiration from fans online.
It comes after Garnacho made some inflammatory comments during the last few days of his United career, including criticising the then-manager Ruben Amorim for not starting him in the Europa League final. He angered the fans shortly after by posting a picture in Marcus Rashford’s Aston Villa shirt, with a move to Chelsea having been agreed shortly after.
The winger recently opened up about his actions, to Premier League Productions, the 21-year-old said: “I remember that, in the last six months, I was not playing like before at Manchester United. I started to be on the bench. It’s not such a bad thing – I was only 20 years old – but in my mind it was like I had to play every game.
“In my mind, maybe it was also on me. I started to do some bad things. But it was just a moment in life and sometimes you have to make decisions. I am really proud to be [at Chelsea] and still in the Premier League at a club like this. About United, I have nothing wrong to say about the club, anyone at the club or my team-mates. It was just a moment that changed and life continues. I have no regrets.”
