US President  will visit  on Wednesday amid concerns over the escalating war with Hamas.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that Biden will travel to the Middle East as the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) prepare for a ground operation in Gaza.

This came after a mammoth seven hour meeting on Monday between Blinken and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, who extended the invitation to the President.

Biden is looking to send his strongest message yet that the US is supporting Israel, but did earlier warn that occupying the Gaza region would be a “mistake”.

Blinken explained that Biden will “receive a comprehensive brief on Israel‘s war aims and strategy” while visiting the country and “hear from Israel how it will conduct its operations in a way that minimises civilian casualties”.

Biden will work to create “some sort of safe passage” for civilians to leave Gaza if they want to.

National Security Council Spokesperson John Kirby added that the President will “discuss the issue of humanitarian assistance” in a way that does not benefit Hamas.

After visiting Tel Aviv, Biden will travel to Amman, Jordan, where he will meet with Jordanian King Abdullah, Egypt’s President Al-Sisi and the president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas.

Earlier today, Biden agreed that Hamas needs to be “eliminated” in order to pave the way to a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine.

He added that a Palestinian authority would need to play a role in brokering this agreement while reaffirming his support for a two-state solution.

“Look, what happened in Gaza, in my view, is Hamas and the extreme elements of Hamas don’t represent all the Palestinian people. And I think that, it would be a mistake to for Israel to occupy Gaza again. We are going in and taking out the extremists… is a necessary requirement,” President Biden said during an hour-long interview with CBS.

When asked if Hamas needs to be eliminated, Biden was unequivocal: “Yes, I do. But there needs to be a Palestinian authority. There needs to be a path to a Palestinian state.

“That path, called “the two-state solution,” has been U.S. policy for decades. It would create an independent nation next to Israel for five million Palestinians who live in Gaza and on the West Bank of the Jordan River.”

It comes just hours after Hamas reportedly released their first hostage video from those kindapped on October 7.

The worrying footage, which was allegedly sent out by Hamas’ armed wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, shows Mia Shem speaking directly to the camera in Hebrew.

The 21-year-old was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists last week while attending the Supernova Music Festival in Kibbutz Re’im, where 260 people were tragically killed.

In the video, she can be seen with a serious arm injury and pleads to be returned to her family.

There is no better feeling than grabbing some fresh new bedding and jumping into bed – it’s the simple things in life. Particularly as the brighter months approach, for many, it’s a season of out with the old and in with the new – and that includes bedsheets.

Shoppers wanting to refresh their bedding can now take home the M&S X Fired Earth Washed Cotton Duvet Cover for between £37.50 to £59, depending on the size needed, a luxurious duvet cover that makes bedtime all the more inviting.

The cream covers range from a single (3ft) bed, all the way to super king size (6ft), ensuring that there is an option for everyone. Crafted from pure cotton, the bedding is sure to help buyers have a cosy and peaceful sleep

The simplistic design features slim border trims with subtle bauble stitching to add a little extra spice. The bedding can be washed at 40 degrees and tumble dried at a low temperature. Pillowcases are sold separately, and they would be the perfect addition to finish off the whole look.

If cream isn’t the aesthetic buyers are going for, they can choose from a range of colours including plain white, teal green, brown and a variety of others.

With a 4.3 out of 5 rating from a total of 459 reviews, customers have shared their experiences with the M&S X Fired Earth range as one wrote: “Great quality and colour, comfortable to sleep under.”

“This is the second set of Washed Cotton bedding I have bought and would definitely recommend it for the cooler months as it feels warmer when getting into bed,” said another buyer.

“Fired Earth bedding was bought for my granddaughter. She will only use this range. I would say it’s for a casual look. She loves it,” wrote another buyer.

Some, however, weren’t as pleased with one shopper writing: “The duvet cover is OK. Nothing special really and I feel it’s overpriced…iIt’s very thin and not the quality I was expecting for what I paid.”

“This bedding looks nice enough but is quite thin for the price tag. I bought the brushed cotton pillow cases in a matching colour as well and they are much better quality. I wish I had just bought the brushed cotton set instead as it’s cheaper and the quality is far nicer,” said another.

If this set doesn’t quite fit a shopper’s aesthetic, they could opt for the Prescot Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set which ranges between £16 and £26 from Dunelm. The green set comes with pillowcases and is made from 100% printed velour. They could also try the Green and White stripe duvet cover and pillowcase set from Next which ranges between £14 to £30 and also comes with pillowcases, and is made from polyester and cotton percale.

As the season transitions into spring, fashion fans are swapping their cosy winter wear for breezier springtime attire. Those looking to refresh their wardrobe should consider heading to the White Stuff website. The beloved high street chain is currently running an up to half-price sale on numerous items, with the highly sought-after Rua Embroidered Dress among them. Originally retailing at £75, the dress is now almost 50% off, reduced to £38.

This Rua dress is lovingly made from organic cotton and modal blend, offering both comfort and functionality. It features a striking green shade with two concealed side pockets and a cinched waist for added shape. Dubbed as ‘slimming’, the midi dress is available in UK sizes four to 24 and comes in both petite and regular lengths, designed to hit that perfect mid-point below the knee and above the ankle, ensuring it’s both stylish and practical.

With its universal appeal for women of all shapes and sizes, the Rua Embroidered Dress is suitable for every event, from a simple day out to more upscale occasions. It has earned an impressive average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars from over 2,200 reviews, reports the Manchester Evening News.

A satisfied customer shared their experience: “Easy to wear and comfortable. Good fit to size and does not need ironing so great for travelling.”

One satisfied customer commented: “Nice fitting dress. It suits any occasion. Either casual or for a special event. Love the colours.”

Another person mentioned: “Lovely dress. So easy to wear, love the long sleeves and pockets. Great colours. A winner.

“The dress is a good addition to my wardrobe,” stated another, adding that ” It fits well and I think it is quite slimming. I like the position of the pockets, useful but do not add bulk in the hip area.”

Another review pointed out: “The fabric hangs well and doesn’t crease. A bargain in the sale. Haven’t washed it yet though. That’s always a good test.”

Meanwhile, one shopper wasn’t as enthused about the Rua Embroidered Dress, leaving a three-star review that remarked: “Very unremarkable, neither striking nor stylish, pretty nor alluring, just rather drab. It was just a very uninteresting dress.”

Yet, another customer expressed delight with their White Stuff purchase, saying: “Love the Rua dress, I now have three. So flattering and comfortable. Can dress up or down for casual outings. Wash beautifully.”

Elsewhere, Boden has announced up to 70% off in its midseason sale, offering deals such as the Thea Long Sleeve Jersey Dress now at £36 from £90, and the Kate Sleeveless Shirt Dress reduced to £50 from £125.

M&S ‘luxurious’ skirt is so popular it’s sold 100 times in 48 hours

When it comes to summer fashion, many of us seek versatile pieces that can transition from beach lounging to elegant dinners. A skirt from Marks and Spencer has been applauded for offering just this kind of flexibility, with shoppers praising its ‘luxurious’ yet ‘floaty’ appeal. The Pleated Maxi Skirt, priced at £39.50, is available in a vibrant cerulean blue that would blend seamlessly into the backdrop of a Greek island. Offered in petite, regular, and long lengths, the skirt ranks as the number 2 best-seller and has seen over 100 purchases in the past 48 hours.

This surge in demand suggests it may sell out sooner rather than later, although most sizes are currently still available. Featuring a bohemian crinkle-style pleated design, the skirt’s ‘floaty’ fabric makes it a comfortable choice for warmer climates. The skirt’s elasticated waistband and maxi length pair beautifully with both heels and sandals. Its elegant finish is easily complemented by blouses and strappy vests, thanks to its solid colour, reports Gloucestershire Live.

For those who prefer more understated designs, Debenhams is offering Warehouse’s Premium Satin Midaxi Skirt featuring a watercolour pattern with a sleek satin finish, now discounted to £25 from the original £59. If stripes are your thing, Topshop’s cutabout laundered skirt boasts a chic blue striped pattern for £38. For a splash of vibrant hues, including blue, Never Fully Dressed’s Balearic Dorris Skirt is available for £69.

Customers who have purchased the delightful Marks and Spencer skirt, which we believe is ideal for spring and summer, have lavished it with glowing reviews and five-star ratings. A satisfied customer commented: “I absolutely love this skirt. I’m so glad I bought it. The fabric is lovely and floaty and comfortable and I feel I could wear it every day or on the beach or even dress it up in the evenings. It’s beautiful quality and a real bargain.”

However, they did offer a note of caution: “I’d say the fit was slightly on the large side,” but this did not detract from its overall appeal as they added: “It’s lovely and long which I like. Highly recommended I’m so glad I bought one. I just hope Marks and Spencer’s don’t bring them out a lot of other lovely colours otherwise I shall have to buy them too!”

Another enthusiast of the Marks and Spencer skirt shared their thoughts: “Beautiful colour and fabric feels and looks luxurious, like silk. Lots of it too. Waistband is generously loose. I could have sized down. Ordered petite as I’m 5’3″ but the length is long, measures 33″/84cm which is the stated length, assumed that was for regular. Still, it is a maxi length skirt and is a nice lower ankle length for me. It would look really lovely dressed up for an evening out on holiday. I don’t know if the regular would be longer therefore.”

The Pleated Maxi Skirt from the M&S collection remains available for purchase online, with sizes ranging from 6 to 22, and is priced at £39.50.
