Queen Letizia is radiant in £162 blue dress just like one Meghan Markle owns

Published

Spanish royals and accompanied her Majesty a to the event on Thursday, August 3.

Letizia looked elegant as ever in a flowing blue and white dress which she teamed with wedged espadrilles and a glossy high ponytail.

The 50-year-old Queen donned the Desigual x Stella Jean Ruffle Midi Dress, 189 euros (£162). On the website, the garment is described as: “A midi dress with a ruffle at the top, exposed shoulders, an elasticated waist with a belt and a two-tone print.”

Complete with a gently ruffled hemline and exaggerated bardot neckline, the tonal ensemble perfectly complimented Letizia’s bronzed complexion and slender figure.

The look was in keeping with classic royal summer fashion too, bearing a close resemblance to a dress worn by Meghan Markle on a royal tour in 2019.

For her visit to the King’s royal residence in Morocco, the Duchess of Sussex donned a floor-length blue chiffon dress from Carolina Herrera’s Fall 2019 collection.

The dress retailed for $2,990 (£2,353) at the time, featuring a two-tone pattern in contrasting shades of blue.

Despite being worn by Meghan when she was pregnant with her first child, Archie, the dress wasn’t actually designed specifically to be maternity wear. However, the high, fitted waistline and flowy skirt make it work for her curvacious silhouette.

Just like Queen Letizia, the stylish royal teamed the garment with simple accessories including the “Christian Dior Bee Clutch in Gold Satin” (£1,378) and stud earrings.

Meghan’s look felt dressed up without being over-the-top fancy thanks to her sleek back ballerina bun, light makeup, and dainty jewels.

Yesterday, Letizia completed her outfit with gold jewellery consisting of a “Coreterno Amor Che Tutto Move 18K Yellow Gold Ring” and a pair of gold and diamond earrings by Isabel Guarch.

The blue and white gown is clearly a summer staple for royal women in the warm weather and was recently styled by Princess Kate too.

She wore a £550 new-season dress by Beulah London for the Royal Charity Polo Cup at Flemish Farm on July 6, 2023.

Made from a cornflower blue fabric adorned with white details, the silhouette resembled the straight skirt of Letizia’s dress and was cut with the same modest hemline.

Kate’s look was more suitable for the cooler British climate, however, with long gathered sleeves and a crew neckline similar to the one on Meghan’s Carolina Herrera number.

Zara Tindall’s trainers are perfect for summer and less than £100 | Royal | News

With summer holidays, city breaks and long walks firmly on the horizon, Zara Tindall’s stylish trainers may be the most practical royal-inspired purchase you make this season. While all eyes may have been on the bride ahead of Peter Phillips and Harriet Phillips’ wedding celebrations last weekend, mine were firmly on Zara’s effortlessly chic rehearsal outfit.

The King’s niece, 44, was spotted arriving in Kemble on Friday looking relaxed and polished in a casual ensemble that perfectly captured off-duty royal style.

But it wasn’t her jacket or jeans that caught my attention. Instead, it was her trainers that I couldn’t stop thinking about.

The royal opted for a pair of classic white trainers with bold black accents, proving once again that sometimes the simplest wardrobe staples are the most effective. Better still, they’re available in sizes 3.5 to 9 and retail for just £90.

The trainers feature a smooth suede upper in a crisp white colourway, finished with contrasting black detailing that gives them a modern edge. A subtle gum sole adds to the retro-inspired feel, while the streamlined silhouette makes them easy to style with almost anything already hanging in your wardrobe.

What I particularly love about this pair is that they feel both on-trend and timeless. Unlike some trainer trends that come and go within a season, these are the sort of shoes you’ll find yourself reaching for year after year.

They’re also ideal for travel. Whether you’re heading off on a European city break, spending the day exploring a new town or simply running errands closer to home, these trainers offer the perfect combination of comfort and style.

Zara has long mastered the art of practical dressing without sacrificing elegance, and this latest look is no exception. While many royal outfits can feel difficult to recreate, her footwear choice is refreshingly attainable and surprisingly affordable.

Shoppers were left thrilled, hailing the comfort. One happy customer shared: “Comfortable and very cute. From the moment I put them on, I could feel the exceptional quality and craftsmanship that Adidas is known.” Another agreed, “Love them. Campus are always so comfy.”

M&S shoppers rave over flattering denim dress that’s perfect for summer

Summer styling is all about discovering pieces that are comfortable, flattering and breathable as the temperature rises. Whether it’s casual outings, days at the office, holidays overseas or relaxed local weekend plans, a versatile outfit that works effortlessly throughout the warmer months is absolutely essential.

Fortunately, Marks and Spencer shoppers believe they may have found precisely that in the retailer’s latest denim dress. Describing the denim zip-up priced at £46, the retailer proclaimed that their newest addition is a “versatile sunny-day staple”. The sleeveless cotton-rich denim dress is crafted in a regular fit, with side panels at the hips that create “a chic fit-and-flare silhouette.”

The M&S description continued: “Seam detailing and a dropped waist reference the classic pinafore style. A zip fastening leading up to the round neck adds a contemporary touch, while a midi-length hem completes the look.”

The denim dress currently boasts five stars on the M&S website. One delighted shopper enthused: “I was a bit sceptical about ordering this dress…but no M&S nailed it with this beauty!! It fits like a dream.

“I’m a slim size 12, 5’10 with a long back, and this dress in the long is perfectly proportioned for me. I just need the weather to improve!! M&S, can you help with that?” Another remarked: “Lovely dress. Well-made and very flattering. Shape of the darts makes for a perfect fit. Would recommend.”

However, a third mentioned: “Happy with the fit and style of this dress. I had ordered a 12 and a 14 petite to cover all options. I kept the size 12.

“It had a peculiar smell, and I was concerned about the denim colour transfer, so I washed it straight away. After the first wash, fraying appeared on the seam at the neck. Returned to the store and, with the assistance of a very helpful staff member, was given a refund, and a new dress was ordered.

“Unfortunately, on arrival, the fit of the size 12 petite was not the same. It was too small. Very disappointed with the inconsistency of sizing. This is not the first time this has happened.”

Conversely, another customer said: “I love this denim dress, good material and design, with a smart or casual look. Washes very well and only needs a quick iron. Very pleased with my purchase. I bought a size six regular length.”

‘Small but mighty’ steamer ‘takes creases out of holiday clothes’

Holidaymakers know all too well the annoyance of arriving at their destination to find their suitcase packed with crumpled clothing that a simple hang won’t fix. But a clever new gadget is being hailed as a ‘game changer’ by Amazon shoppers for being ‘small but mighty’. The Sundu Clothes Steamer is currently on offer at £39.99, reduced from £49.99 on Amazon, giving buyers a 20% saving in a limited-time deal.

The steamer has accrued some glowing reviews from customers who report that it heats up rapidly and ‘takes creases out of holiday clothes’ – without the inconvenience of wrestling with an ironing board. Built for both home and travel use, the compact steamer warms up in approximately 15 seconds and delivers a powerful burst of steam to smooth out wrinkles in clothing.

Designed with a three-layer steam plate, it is engineered to distribute steam evenly while stopping water droplets from settling on fabrics. The device incorporates both steaming and dry ironing functions, too, which makes it easy to toggle between one dry ironing mode and three steam settings, ideal for a range of different garments.

It also features an adjustable rotating ceramic plate, which can be positioned for either vertical or horizontal ironing, making it straightforward to tackle everything from dresses and shirts to trousers and jackets. The V-shaped tip is crafted to reach more awkward areas such as collars, cuffs, pleats and around buttons, while the ceramic heating plate achieves temperatures of up to 140°C.

According to the manufacturer, the steamer is compatible with a broad range of fabrics, including silk, cotton, linen, wool, denim and lace. Equipped with an LED display and touch controls, it has been designed to be easy to use as users can switch between settings while ironing at the touch of a button.

Small and light enough to fit in a suitcase, the iron weighs at under 1kg and measures just over 10 inches in length. It also includes a 100ml water tank, storage bag, measuring cup and protective gloves, making it particularly handy for holidays, weddings, business trips and weekend getaways, reports the Mirror.

If this particular model doesn’t fit the bill, the Philips 5000 Series Handheld Clothes Steamer, available at Currys for £69.99, boasts a 320ml reservoir capacity and heats up in just 35 seconds.

Meanwhile, Argos stocks the Russell Hobbs Steam Genie 2in1 Handheld Steamer with Iron for £60. Featuring a 150ml water tank, it has a one-minute heat-up time and incorporates one temp technology, which helps minimise the risk of damage to garments.

Although the Sundu Steamer on Amazon has been a hit and has earned an impressive 4.3 out of 5-star rating from more than 600 reviews – it also carries Amazon’s Choice status.

One user raved: “This is my new favourite gadget, I can’t believe how well this works as an iron or a steamer.

“I use it all the time and have replaced my iron and ironing board. It’s great for bed sheets. Recently took on a holiday for a week, and it’s an absolute game-changer. Its only downfall is that it’s a little on the heavy side.”

Another customer noted: “Fantastic little steamer. Small but mighty. Heats up really quickly and takes all the creases out of our holiday clothes. Can be used flat like an iron or upright.”

Someone else wrote: “I recently went on a trip to Asia and have brought this steamer with me – used it for the first time.

“I might say I was really impressed after using it a few times. It really does the job, and you can use it as an iron, or use it as a steamer, having three different programs for steaming. It’s easy to either iron or steam your clothes, including linen clothes. It is small and fits in hand luggage. I love the colour as well.”

Although most comments were positive, some people deducted stars due to its inability to stand ‘properly’, echoed by one shopper, who shared: “Really handy and great.

“The only thing is I cannot get it to sit in the stand properly, so that’s why it’s a 4-star, but as it works, it’s excellent.”

Someone else commented on how it may not get creases out on the first attempt, and said: “First time using a handheld steamer, it does do the job, but it does take several attempts to get the creases out. I do like this steamer for being able to convert it to a mini dry iron, which makes it great for travel, although it is a little heavier for carrying in my luggage than I would have liked.”
