Koffee With Karan 8: Sara Ali Khan Outs 2 Celeb Couples With 'Night Manager' And 'Wrong Sara' Replies

The upcoming episode ofKoffee With Karan 8will feature “two highly inflammable girls on the Koffee couch” — Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday. As per Karan Johar, the episode is going to be “all about friendship, love and the movies”. After watching the promo, it is safe to say that the Sara-Ananya special episode is already a hit. Be it Sara reacting to the “alleged rumours about dating India cricketer Shubham Gill” (more on that later) or the Aditya Roy Kapur references, we just can’t wait for the episode now. Can you? Now, let us look at one of the major highlights of the promo. It’s Karan Johar’s question to Sara, “One thing Ananya has that you don’t?” Without wasting a second, Sara says, “A night manager.” Oh boy! Did Sara confirm that Ananya and Aditya Roy Kapur are dating? Well, well, we can’t miss the look on Ananya’s face. FYI: The Night Manager stars Ananya’s rumoured boyfriend Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead role.

Wait, there is more, Karan Johar then moves to Ananya Panday, “How are you managing your nights? You have not been a bit Gumraah in love?” Again, an Aditya Roy Kapur reference. Gumraah, directed by Vardhan Ketkar, featured Aditya in a dual role.  To this, Ananya, after blushing for a bit, says, “Aashiqui aise hoti hai but…ahhh…Stop talking.” Aashiqui 2 featured Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles.

At one point in the promo, Karan Johar also asks Sara Ali Khan to address the “alleged rumours about dating [India cricketer] Shubham Gill”. Sara, being Sara, says, “You have got the wrong Sara guys. Sara ka sara duniya galat Sara ke piche pada hai [The whole world is after the wrong Sara].” Is that a cryptic hint that Shubham Gill and Sara Tendulkar are in a relationship?

Sharing the promo, Karan Johar said, “It’s all about friendship, love & the movies with these two magnetic girls on the Koffee couch for the next episode! Trust me, it’s a blast!!!!”

In a KWK promoreleased last week, Ananya Panday said, “I am feeling very Ananya Coy Kapur.”

The dating rumours between Ananya Panday and Aditya Roy Kapur began last year on Koffee With Karan 7. KJo asked Ananya,  “I saw you at my party… What’s brewing between you and Aditya Roy Kapoor?” After much ado, Ananya replied, “I find Aditya Roy Kapur hot.”

Koffee With Karan 8  is currently streaming on Disney Hotstar. The makers release a new episode every Thursday.

I love Wuthering Heights but loathed the film | Films | Entertainment

As a huge fan of the original novel, I knew I just had to see the film; although, having seen some reviews ahead of time, I was rather sceptical. I was a little shocked, though, as the film actually ended up being worse than I had predicted – and felt more like bad fan-fiction than an adaptation of Emily Brontë‘s writing. From bizarre casting, to out-of-character storylines and cutting out half of the story, the film was ultimately rather disappointing.

And while there are certainly plenty of other bad adaptations of Wuthering Heights out there (MTV’s version, anyone?), there are some that are actually quite good.

One that has remained popular since its release, at least among fans of the Brontës, is the 2009 mini-series starring Tom Hardy and Charlotte Riley as Heathcliff and Cathy – a pairing whose chemistry was so good that they’ve since married in real life and welcomed two children together.

True to the story, however, the pair’s on-screen counterparts didn’t quite get a happy ending. Unlike the 2026 adaptation, and many others too, the 2009 version opted against stopping halfway through the story.

While the 2009 mini-series isn’t without its issues, Heathcliff being white-washed being one inaccuracy that both adaptations are guilty of, the heart of the story itself is still there.

And I’m not the only one who’s a fan of the 2009 adaptation, taking to IMDb, one fan wrote: “I am a confessed middle-aged Wuthering Heights tragic – have studied the book at at university level, read it many times, and seen all of the major movie and TV versions – I consider this film version to be the best I have seen.

“Though it departs from the plot a number of times it still comes closest to the the themes and tone of Emily Brontë’s work.”

While another added: “I wasn’t expecting to like this version because I actually dislike all the other adaptations, but my, God! This is absolutely fantastic! It’s the sexiest and most entertaining Wuthering Heights I’ve seen. I’ve watched this film over 10 times. I love it to pieces.

“I thought it was superbly cast and the characters are so perfectly portrayed. Tom Hardy as Heathcliff was just… magnificent. He nailed that psychotic, bad boy role like no other. I found myself loving and hating him all at once.

“Now I can’t imagine anyone else playing it. He’s a fantastic actor. I wish more people knew of him in the States! Also the music in this version is so beautiful.”

New Delhi:

Salman Khan has started shooting his next project, directed by Vamshi Paidipally. The film features Nayanthara as the female lead. The movie, currently being referred to as #SVC63, recently kicked off with a traditional puja ceremony in Mumbai.

The makers, Sri Venkateshwara Creations, shared a video from the set on X. The clip gives a glimpse of the muhurat shot and the team coming together for the first day.

Producer Dil Raju and Vamshi are seen arriving at the venue, followed by the lead actors. Nayanthara kept it simple in a black jumpsuit, while Salman showed up in a black T-shirt and jeans.

The video captures them greeting the crew and getting ready before the ceremonial first shot is taken.

Last month, the production house officially announced Nayanthara’s entry into the film with an X post.

It read, “The Queen Arrives. The epitome of versatility and excellence #NAYANTHARA joins #SalmanKhanVamshiPaidipallyFilm. It’s an honour to have you on board for something truly special that’s underway.”

While this is the first time Vamshi and Dil Raju are working with Salman Khan, the director-producer duo already shares a solid track record. They have teamed up earlier for films like Yevadu and Varisu.

Vamshi started his journey in Telugu cinema with Brindavanam and went on to direct films like Oopiri and Maharshi, which also won a National Award. With #SVC63, he is now stepping into Bollywood for the first time.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan has a packed schedule. Apart from #SVC63, he is also working on a war drama titled Maatrubhumi, also starring Chitrangada Singh. Salman is also expected to make a cameo in Riteish Deshmukh’s Raja Shivaji.

On the other hand, Nayanthara continues to juggle multiple projects across languages. After her Hindi debut in Jawan alongside Shah Rukh Khan, this film marks her second outing in Bollywood. She also has several films lined up in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Her upcoming projects include Toxic, Mookuthi Amman 2, Mannangatti Since 1960, Hi, Rakkayie, Patriot and Dear Students.

Two Hollywood heavyweights clash in a battle for survival in the Australian Outback.

A must-see new thriller is set to land on Netflix this week, so here’s everything you need to know about Apex.

The pulse-pounding new film is helmed by Baltasar Kormákur (Everest) and throws two of cinema’s biggest names into a merciless game of cat-and-mouse.

Shot on location in Australia, a trailer for the film has promised a gripping and punishing cinematic experience you can enjoy from the comfort of your sofa.

Director Kormákur told Tudum “I couldn’t be more excited” as he praised the “talented, dedicated” cast and “unrivalled” crew working behind the scenes, reports the Mirror.

“For a film like Apex – where the elements and the terrain are characters that loom just as large as the movie stars battling in it – no other country in the world could have taken the place of Australia as our primary location,” he shared.

So, who features in Apex?

Apex is a stripped-back thriller that centres primarily on just two characters. Charlize Theron heads up the production as Sasha, a grief-stricken rock climber who pushes herself to the limits on a perilous journey across Australia.

Theron has featured in some of Hollywood‘s most spectacular productions in recent years, from adrenaline-fuelled blockbusters such as Mad Max: Fury Road, Atomic Blonde and the Fast and Furious franchise to critically lauded dramas Tully and Bombshell.

Her opponent in the film is deranged hunter Ben, portrayed by Welsh actor Taron Egerton. Egerton shot to fame playing Eggsy in the Kingsman franchise and is joining forces with Netflix once again following the streamer’s hugely successful airport thriller Carry-On. He is equally well recognised for Rocketman, Tetris, and the Apple TV serial killer drama Black Bird.

Rounding out the cast is Australian star Eric Bana, who takes on the role of an enigmatic character named Tommy. Bana is also reuniting with Netflix following the well-received murder mystery drama Untamed, which is set to return for a second series. His other notable credits include Hulk, The Dry, and A Sacrifice.

Further supporting cast members include Matt Whelan, Bessie Holland, Aaron Pedersen, Rob Carlton, Duncan Fellows, Julia Ohannessian, Niam Hogan, Willow Seager, Zac Garred, and Caitlin Stasey.

What is Apex about?

The film’s straightforward synopsis reads: “A grieving woman seeks solace in the wilderness only to become ensnared in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a serial killer.”

A trailer has shown Egerton’s hunter callously tormenting Theron’s lead character, compelling her to flee through ever more treacherous terrain in a desperate bid to escape.

Nevertheless, the footage largely keeps Bana’s role and broader plot details closely guarded, so audiences can expect a wealth of twists throughout Sasha’s compelling journey.

When will Apex be released?

Apex arrives in just two days’ time on Friday, 24th April, making it the perfect choice for weekend viewing.

The precise moment the film becomes available to stream will vary depending on viewers’ location. Given that Netflix’s headquarters are situated in California, new titles are ordinarily added to the platform at midnight Pacific Time.

This equates to approximately 3am Eastern Time, while UK viewers will be able to tune in from 8am on Thursday morning.

Apex releases Friday, 24th April on Netflix.
