Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible 8 release date delayed and ‘will get new title’ | Films | Entertainment

Earlier this year, Tom Cruise returned in his seventh outing as IMF agent Ethan Hunt.

Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 was critically acclaimed but was a box office disappointment making just $567.5 million on a budget of $291 million.

This was partly due to competition from Barbie and Oppenheimer in a crowded blockbuster summer.

The film ended on a cliffhanger ahead of Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 2, which was set to release next summer.

However, due to the ongoing actor’s strike, Paramount Pictures has delayed the movie from June 28, 2024 to May 23, 2025, following the rumoured move for Marvel’s Deadpool 3.

That date marks Memorial Day in the US, when the studio won’t have to compete with Christopher Nolan this time around for IMAX screens.

It’s also the day when Cruise released his highest-grossing movie of all time, Top Gun: Maverick, which made $1.49 billion worldwide last year.

Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter’s Film Editor Aaron Couch tweeted: “Actually, Dead Reckoning 2 is no longer expected to be the title of the next Mission movie.”

So by the sounds of it, we could be back to calling the film Mission: Impossible 8 until a new title is officially announced by Cruise and Paramount.

Taking the film’s June 28, 2024 slot now will be A Quiet Place: Day One, which is moving back from March 8, 2024.

The film stars Lupita Nyong’o and Denis O’Hare and is a prequel to John Krasinski and Emily Blunt’s A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II.

New Delhi:

David Dhawan has worked with the biggest names in Bollywood at the peak of his career. From Salman Khan and Govinda to Sanjay Dutt, he has delivered some memorable films. The filmmaker, who is currently busy promoting Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai led by his son, actor Varun Dhawan, opened up about why he never worked with Shah Rukh Khan.

What’s Happening

  • David Dhawan told Pinkvilla,Aisi baat nahi hai (It isn’t like that). I think at one time we were planning to do something together. But I was always busy. Always mere paas do pictures floor mein rahti thi (I always had two films on the floors at that time). So, it was very difficult, you know. But definitely at one stage it was there.”
  • He continued, “Par mere kabhi bhi aisa nahi hai ke main yeh actor ke saath work karunga. Maine jaise Govinda ke saath kiya, Salman ke saath kiya, Sanjay… wohi ho gaya tha hisab kitab (But it’s never been the case that I would only work with a specific actor. As I worked with Govinda, Salman, and Sanjay (Dutt), it just worked out that way).”

Work

On the work front, David Dhawan is gearing up for the release of his film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The teaser of the film was released recently which received significant backlash for the use of AI toddlers speaking about how their mothers might be different, but their father Jass — played by Varun Dhawan — is the same. The mothers of these children are played by Mrunal Thakur as Baani and Pooja Hegde as Preet.

Reacting to the online backlash against the film’s teaser, David Dhawan told ANI, “AI hai hee nahin picture mein… Kya karein kuch alag karein, to banake dekha humne. Theek laga. Kahani bhi ye nahin hai. (There is no AI in the film. We wanted to do something different. We thought it looked ok. The story is also different) It’s just a teaser. You’ll get to know when the songs will come. The picture has got nothing to do (with AI)”

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, produced by Ramesh Taurani of Tips Films, is set to be released worldwide on May 22. The film also stars Maniesh Paul, Chunky Pandey, Jimmy Shergill, and Mouni Roy.

Akshay Kumar Reacts To Backlash Over Fake Moustache In Samrat Prithviraj: “I Am Sorry”

Akshay Kumar has finally responded to the criticism surrounding his look in Samrat Prithviraj, particularly the much-discussed fake moustache that drew attention when the film released in 2022.

At the time, many viewers questioned the authenticity of his appearance as the legendary king Prithviraj Chauhan. The historical drama faced backlash from sections of the audience who expected a more natural and convincing portrayal.

Akshay Kumar’s Clarification

Speaking on a podcast shared on Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel, Akshay has addressed the issue and clarified that the decision was not due to a lack of effort on his part.

“See, I’m working on lots of things, lots of films, and lots of looks. Like right now, I have this beard. I took around six weeks to grow it, and during those six weeks, I didn’t work. So it’s not like that,” he said.

The actor went on to explain that the specific moustache style required for Samrat Prithviraj was not something he could grow naturally, which led to the use of a prosthetic.

“In Samrat Prithviraj, the story required a particular kind of moustache, and that kind of moustache cannot grow naturally on my face. So yes, maybe the fake moustache didn’t look good, maybe a lot of people didn’t like it. But at the end of the day, it’s acting. Growing that exact moustache might not be possible for me. But sometimes you have to do it. And if people didn’t like it, then I am sorry,” he added.

About The Film

Released on June 3, 2022, Samrat Prithviraj featured Akshay Kumar in the lead role alongside Manushi Chhillar, Sanjay Dutt, and Sonu Sood. The film, backed by Yash Raj Films, was based on the life of the renowned warrior king.

New Delhi:

Hansika Motwani has been in the news owing to her divorce from Sohail Khaturiya, but she recently faced severe backlash for her comment on the casting couch.

What’s Happening

  • In a new interview with Hauterfly, Hansika Motwani was asked if she had ever dealt with casting couch experiences in the film industry, considering she has been working in this profession since childhood.
  • She said, “Mujhe pata hai kya lagta hai jisko kaam karna hai na asli kaam, unke sath yeh sab hota nahi hoga. Kyunki mere sath touchwood yeh sab nahi hua (I feel that if someone truly wants to work and focus on real work, these things probably don’t happen to them). Honestly, I can’t give a comment on this because I don’t know.”
  • Her response did not sit well with the internet, which responded strongly.

Internet Reactions

Reddit exploded with some harsh comments, calling out Hansika Motwani for being “tone-deaf.”

One person wrote, “Asli kaam??? She’s not been in a decent project for ages. The last memorable thing of hers I remember is that awful marriage show. Why are people interviewing her in the first place?”

Someone else said, “She sounds illiterate. Real work is marrying your best friend’s ex-husband, yes!”

Another user wrote, “Good that the interviewer stood his ground.”

Other comments read, “Arrogant, tone deaf” and “What an irresponsible answer… says a lot about her.”

About The Divorce

Hansika Motwani has been trending mostly because of her recent divorce with husband Sohael Khaturiya. They had a lavish wedding at Mundota Fort and Palace in Jaipur in December 2022. However their marriage did not last, and they were granted a divorce by a family court in Mumbai’s Bandra suburb by mutual consent on March 11.

Hansika Motwani’s lawyer said that she didn’t ask for any alimony from her former husband.

“It is pertinent to clarify that our client has made no claims whatsoever for alimony or maintenance, as her sole intention was to bring a dignified and peaceful closure to the marriage. The reasons for the breakdown of the relationship were placed before the Hon’ble Court in the petition. Our client now wishes to move forward with her life and professional commitments,” lawyer Adnan Shaikh told NDTV.

Hansika Motwani is known for films such as Aap Kaa Surroor, Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, and My Name Is Shruthi.
