Those looking to top up on makeup and skincare can find a huge range of affordable and premium brands on Amazon.

Wearing a full face of makeup for a long period of time can often mean it fades and needs topping up, but there’s a way to keep skin looking fresh.

A setting spray can help form a barrier to protect the face from the elements and Barry M’s contain skincare ingredients keep skin healthy and hydrated.

There are three different types to choose from – the original Fixation spray with Aronia Berry and Vitamin C, the Dewy Finish spray with Cucumber Extract and moisturising Snow Mushroom, and the Matte Finish spray with Sugar Kelp Extract and Niacinamide.

Some shoppers do mention that the spray can be very wet initially, so it’s best to use it sparingly and wait a while after using it before going out, to allow it to dry.

Shoppers have been leaving feedback on the setting spray, with some praising how useful it is for hot weather.

Samantha said: ”I’m 51 and my daughters said I should try this so I did. It keeps my make-up in place from morning till night. I don’t need to touch it up other than my lipstick. It’s a bit strange when first applied, especially for older ladies like myself that aren’t used to it. Once it’s dried you’re good to go.”

Kim commented: ”Can’t complain for the price. This spray is light and refreshing and has kept my makeup in place during the last couple of weeks when it’s been hot”

Lora also added: ”Does the job, sets nicely once dried. Quite wet initially and spray has quite a wide range so I find it makes my clothes a bit damp, but does dry quickly.”

‘Comfy and flattering’ M&S £22 linen trousers reduced to £6

Linen is always a failsafe option in the summer thanks to its lightweight, breathable fabric. And right now, we’ve spotted a great deal on a popular pair from M&S that shoppers can bag for less than £7.

The Drawstring Wide Leg Trousers with Linen are currently £22, but savvy shoppers can slash the price to £6.45 through a cashback deal. New members who sign up for TopCashback and purchase the trousers on the site can claim enough cashback to bring the overall cost down to pennies.

Existing M&S customers can also unlock a hefty saving, with the pants working out at around £6.82 after cashback. To get the deal, shoppers will need to create a TopCashback account and click through to M&S before completing their purchase. Cashback is not paid instantly and can take up to seven days to appear in accounts, and standard delivery is £3.99.

These relaxed trousers are the epitome of effortless summer dressing. They feature a beautifully flattering wide-leg silhouette and a comfortable high-rise elasticated waist, complete with a casual drawstring for easy pull-on wear.

Meanwhile, side pockets provide the ultimate finishing touch. There are five colours available, including black and cream, though sizes are selling fast.

When it comes to styling, these trousers pair perfectly with a tucked-in tank or a classic white tee for an effortless daytime vibe – add sandals and a woven bag to lean into that carefree summer feel. For a seamless day-to-night transition, swap the flats for heeled sandals and throw on a lightweight blazer.

Beyond M&S, there are plenty of other linen options. H&M’s Straight Drawstring Trousers (£27.99) are a classic, easy-to-wear pick with a high, elasticated waist and drawstring.

Otherwise, Next has a wealth of options. We particularly like these Linen Blend Wide Leg Trousers (£34) in a soothing sage green, which have earned a solid 4.6-star rating.

For those convinced by the Drawstring Wide Leg Trousers with Linen, they’ve had plenty of great reviews via M&S. This happy shopper shared: “Great product bought for work, and they are everything I needed. Wash well and keep the colour well.”

Meanwhile, a second wrote: “These are so comfortable, I ordered a size 12 with a regular leg. They fit well in size, although I turned up the hem as I found them a bit too long. So comfortable and easy to dress up or down… really good value for money.”

And another said: “I wanted a loose pair of trousers for the summer months. I have jogging bottoms which are my staple for the winter months, but they are too hot in the summer.

“These were ideal, loose but not too baggy. I bought two colours, blue and khaki. I had bought a third (black) in a different style, but they were too stiff, so I returned them and will get another pair of the drawstrings.”

However, they haven’t impressed everyone. This mixed review reads: ” The fabric seems good quality and drapey, but the proportions are not right for me. Waist a little too tight and legs too wide, even for a wide-legged style.”

On a brighter note, this M&S fan said: “I’m 5ft 6in and ordered Size 12 regular, and they fit perfectly. Can be worn with flats or a small heel. Nice shape to them. Love them.”

Fans say ‘best sunscreen ever’ is ‘great under makeup’

Dermatologists consistently stress the importance of wearing SPF every day, regardless of the weather. Daily sunscreen use helps protect skin from harmful UV rays, which can contribute to sun damage, premature ageing and pigmentation over time.

Now, skincare fans have a new option to add to their routines, as Clinique has launched its UV Solutions Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 50 in the UK. The new sunscreen has already been attracting positive reviews from shoppers, and it’s on sale.

The Hydrating Sunscreen has been reduced to £24 from £30 at Sephora, saving shoppers £6. The offer also undercuts prices at Boots and Clinique’s own website, making Sephora one of the cheapest places to pick it up right now.

The sunscreen has been designed to deliver broad-spectrum SPF 50 protection while providing instant hydration to help keep skin feeling comfortable throughout the day. According to Clinique, the lightweight formula glides onto skin without leaving behind sticky residue or a white cast, making it suitable for wearing alone or under makeup.

As well as helping defend against UV rays, the sunscreen contains antioxidants that work to help prevent early signs of ageing. Clinique says the antioxidant protection remains effective even after cleansing the face.

The brand recommends applying the sunscreen every morning as the final step in a skincare routine before makeup. Like most sunscreens, it should be reapplied every two hours for optimal protection, though frequent reapplication may be impractical for those wearing a full face of makeup.

Beyond Clinique, another popular sunscreen is Paula’s Choice CALM Barrier Protect Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 (£30, Amazon). It’s a fantastic option for anyone dealing with sensitive skin and redness, as it not only protects against sun damage but also helps calm the complexion.

Elsewhere, The Organic Pharmacy’s UV365 Protecting Ageing Defence (£35) provides both UVA and UVB protection, making it ideal for preventing both sunburn and wrinkles. The formula is also super moisturising, helping to leave skin hydrated and soft throughout the day.

For those convinced by UV Solutions Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 50, it’s already garnered some great reviews in North America. This happy shopper via Amazon said: ” This Clinique SPF 50 sunscreen is very comfortable to use. It’s not greasy at all and absorbs quickly into the skin, which makes it easy to apply.

“I also like that it doesn’t sting my eyes, even when I’m out in the sun for a while. Overall, it feels lightweight, goes on smoothly, and works well for everyday use. Very happy with this sunscreen.”

Meanwhile, a second said: “It works great, no scent, goes on great under makeup or moisturiser.” And another chimed in: “It goes on clear and is lightweight.”

However, it hasn’t impressed everyone. This mixed review said: “I like the feel of this sunscreen. I also like the added benefits, but all that in mind, I find this to be as effective as most sunscreens. The tube is pretty small, and I don’t notice too much of a difference, so I don’t think I would buy such an expensive product.”

On a brighter note, this Clinique fan shared: ” It is by far the best sunscreen I have used. Blends well with your skin colour. Love it.”

Meanwhile, someone else added: “It goes on easily, matte finish is great. I am ordering a second to carry me through the summer. A must-have in every girl’s beach bag.

Women praise trainers ‘as comfortable now as day I first put them on’

Amazon has a number one bestselling pair of trainers up for grabs – and shoppers are calling them comfortable, super lightweight and stylish. The HKR Women’s Slip on Trainers are available for £33.98 and they come in a variety of colours.

Whether it’s pink, black, blue, grey or white, there should be an option for everyone. The shoes also come in sizes 3.5 to 8.

Sometimes getting a comfy trainer at a reasonable price can be difficult, but these seem to do just that. They are designed to have an elastic slip-on closure with a pull-tab, making them easy to put on and take off.

Other features include a knitted upper that feels soft and keeps feet cool and comfortable all day and memory foam insoles, ideal for those who spend a lot of time on their feet. The outsole of the shoe is said to be lightweight and shock absorbing to reduce foot fatigue.

There are some other comfortable trainers on the market, however. At a slightly higher price, for example, there’s the Skechers Grey Relaxed Fit Sport Slip In Shoes for £79 from Next. This popular trainer comes in sizes 3 to 8 and features a ‘mesh bungee-laced upper’ and cushioned memory foam insoles.

For something more affordable, there’s the M&S Lace Up Trainers for £26. These have limited sizes left, but are usually available in 3 to 8 and customers say they fit true to size. They also have ‘innovative Insolia Flex technology’ that ensures the balls of feet are correctly positioned, along with Freshfeet antibacterial technology to help minimise odour.

The HKR trainers have garnered a 4.4 out of five-star rating on Amazon from almost 14,000 reviews though. One person said: “I bought these shoes one-and-a-half years ago (size 6). They are as comfortable now as the day I first put them on. I wear them every day, mostly around the house (I prefer them to slippers), but also outside. Very easy to slip on and a perfect fit. I hope they’re still available when I need another pair!”

Another added: “Feels like walking on air and perfect for walking and exercise!”

A third person wrote: “Fit perfect, so comfortable as I’m on my feet for 12 hours a day, as I’m a care assistant in a care home, the sole cushioning is perfect. Excellent grip, and the fabric allows my feet to breathe. I have bought another pair in white for my holidays.”

A small handful of people rated them three or four stars for a variety of reasons. For example, this person said: “I love these shoes, buy them over and over again, so comfy. The only issue I have, the tread doesn’t have a great grip as I have slipped a few times in wet weather.”

Another added: “I had to give it to my mother who has a wide foot as it was too loose for me. It should be stated that it is a wide fit. Other than that, it’s OK.”

The HKR Women’s Slip on Trainers are available from Amazon.
